A RESOLUTION GRANTING THE RBQUEST OF THE
SHRINE OF OUR LADY OF CHARITY, INC. FOR
FREE USE OF THE MARINE STADIUM, May 14,1972,
DURING THE DAYTIME, FOR AN ENTERTAINMENT
PROGRAM, SUBJECT TO PAYMENT OF EVENT PER-
SONNEL, LIGHTS, INSURANCE AND OTHER DIRECT
COSTS CHARGED BY THE CITY
WHEREAS, the Shrine to Our Lady of Charity, Inc.
had made application for the use of the Miami Marine
Stadium facility on May 14, 1972, during the daytime
for an entertainment program, the proceeds of which
are to be utilizied to construct a Catholic Church on
property located at Mercy Hospital, which property is
owned by the Catholic Diocese of Miami. The Shrine to
Our Lady of Charity, Inc. is a non-profit, religious and
charitable organization. All the proceeds derived from
the said entertainment are to be utilized purely for religious
and charitable purposes, as aforesaid; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Miami City Code,
paragraph 39-7 (e-1),"The commission of the city may, by
resolution, permit the free use of city auditoriums, band -
shells, park facilities or stadiums, by those organizations
which are educational, literary, scientific, religious or
charitable organizations . . . under such terms and conditions
as the commission may establish in such resolution"; and
WHEREAS, the religious and charitable organization,
the Shrine to Our Lady of Charity, Inc., qualifies under
the terms of said provisions of the City Code; and
WHEREAS, the said religious and charitable organization
is willing to pay for all soundmen, electricians and patrols
sufficient to adequately cover the entertainment at the prices
normally paid by the City of Miami.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
That permission is hereby granted to use the Miami
Marine Stadium on the 14th day of May, 1972, during the
daytime for an entertainment program, the proceeds of which
are to be utilizied solely for charitable and relig ur-

all soundmen, electricians and patrols necessary to
adequately cover the entertainment program at the prices
fixed by the manager of the Miami Marine Stadium. The
manager of the Miami Marine Stadium is hereby directed to.
arrange for the personnel involved to be paid for by the
said charitable and religious organization.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of April,1972.
