RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION EXTENDING EMPLOYMENT OF
HERBERT MUNNINGS, CASHIER II, OFFICE
OF THE CLERK, CITY OF MIAMI MUNICIPAL
COURT, FORA PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR
BEYOND THE AGE OF 75 YEARS.
WHEREAS, the General Employees' Retirement Plan
required the retirement of any member in service who has
attained the age of 70 years, excepting such instances when
the City Commission permits such a member to continue active
service for a period not in excess of two years at a time,
upon the recommendation of the member's department head,
and the approval of the Civil Service Board after a review
of the member's record, physical condition and ability to
perform his duties; and
WHEREAS, HERBERT MUNNINGS, Cashier II, Office of the
Clerk, City of Miami Municipal Court, has requested extension
of employment for a period of one (1) year beyond the manda-
tory retirement age of 70 years, making the sixth extension
of employment beyond the mandatory retirement age; and
WHEREAS, the proper City of Miami officials have recom-
mended the approval of this request, and Dr. C. S. Scarborough,
the City Physician, has found HERBERT MUNNINGS physically
qualified to continue his employment by one additional year,
with the provision that in the event of a rollback of layoff,
Mr. Munnings rather than a junior employee would be affected;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. HERBERT MUNNINGS, Cashier II, Office of
the Clerk, City of Miami Municipal Court, is hereby granted
an extension of employment as a City of Miami employee for
a period of one (1) year beyond the age of 75 years, or
until March 30, 1973, without granting any additional rights
or privileged status to the said HERBERT MUNNINGS.
