A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY ATTORNEY TO NEGOTIATE WITH
VARIOUS ATTORNEYS EXPERT IN CONDEMNA-
TION PROCEDURES, AND TO RETURN TO THE
COMMISSION WITH A RECOMMENDATION OF AN
ATTORNEY TO BE RETAINED FOR CONDEMNA-
TION PROCEEDINGS IN CONNECTION WITH THE
ACQUISITION OF PARK AND RECREATIONAL
LANDS, THE EXPENSES IN CONNECTION WITH
THIS MATTER TO BE PAID FROM PARK AND
RECREATIONAL BOND FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City of Miami, through its Law Department,
is presently engaged in a condemnation suit against the F.E.C.,
owner of a certain piece of property on Biscayne Boulevard and
Biscayne Bay; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the recent $39,890,000 bond issue
there will be further large-scale condemnations of properties
for park purposes required; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney recommends that an attorney
expert in condemnation proceedings be retained by the City to
handle said condemnation proceedings, the payment for such
attorney's services to come out of the proceeds of the bond issue;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
That the City Attorney be, and he is, hereby authorized
and directed to negotiate with various attorneys expert in con-
demnation procedures and return to the Commission with a recommend-
ation of an attorney to be retained for said condemnation proceed-
ings, the payment for such attorney's services to come out of
the proceeds of the bond issue.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of April, 1972.
