A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR
OF FINANCE TO PAY TO PHILLIP KENT PALMER,
WITHOUT THE ADMISSION OF LIABILITY, THE
SUM OF $250.00 IN FULL AND COMPLETE
SETTLEMENT OF HIS CLAIM AGAINST W. J.
CAUCHI, POLICE OFFICER OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FOR ALLEGED PERSONAL INJURIES
SUSTAINED BY HIM, UPON THE EXECUTION OF
A RELEASE RELEASING THE CITY OF MIAMI
AND ITS POLICE OFFICER FROM ALL CLAIMS
AND DEMANDS.
WHEREAS, the plaintiff, PHILLIP KENT PALMER,
filed an action against a police officer of the City of
Miami in the Circuit Court of the llth Judicial Circuit,
in and for Dade County, Florida, bearing Number 71-19403,
alleging violation of his civil rights on or about April
1, 1971; and
WHEREAS, this claim has been investigated by
the Office of the City Attorney and said office recommends
this claim be settled for the sum of $250.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Director of Finance be and he
is hereby directed to pay PHILLIP KENT PALMER, without the
admission of liability, the sum of $250.00 in full and complete
settlement of his claim against W. J. Cauchi, police officer of
the City of Miami, for alleged personal injuries sustained by
him, upon the execution of a release releasing the City of
Miami and its police officer from all claims and demands.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this
day of March, 1972.
