RESOLUTION NO. 4338 0 A RESOLUTION CONCERNINn THE CANVASSING OP THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL BOND ELECTION HELD MARCH 14, 1972 AND DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, 7 FLORIDA:. Section 1. The returns of the special bond election held on March 14, 1972 having been received from the election officials of each .of the voting precincts within the City of Miami and the Commission having canvassed such returns declares: (a) Said election was duly and properly held and notice thereof was duly given in accordance with law and Ordi- nance No. Q035 , entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL BOND ELECTION IN THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, ON MARCH 14, 1972, AND DISPENSING WITH THE READING OF THIS ORDINANCE ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS OF THE COMMISSION", adopted January 20, 1972; all steps in connec- tion with and leading up to said special bond election were duly, regularly and lawfully taken and had; and all applicable pro- visions of the Constitution and statutes of the State of Florida and of said Ordinance have been fully complied with. (b) The inspectors and clerks of each election pre- cinct in the City have made returns to the Commission of the results of the election in each such precinct on the question submitted at said election. (c) At said election there was submitted to the qualified electors of the City of Miami, Florida the following question: -1 ITEM NO. if Shall bonds of The City of Miami, Florida, in an aggreaate principal amount not exoeedinci $39,890,000 be issued under the provisions of Ordinance No. 8p34 for the ournose of provid- ing funds, together with any other available funds, to pay the cost of act:uirinq, construc- ting, developing, extending, enlaraina, filling and improvina nublic nark and recreational facilities in the City of Miami; such bonds to be issued at one time or from time to time and to mature in annual installments 2 to 25 gears, inclusive, after the date or dates of the bonds, to bear interest not exceeding 7 1/2% ner annum, . and to be payable from unlimited ad valorem taxes? Section 2. It is hereby found, determined and declared that: 20,453 votes were cast by qualified electors in favor of the issuance of bonds of The City of Miami in an aggregate principal amount not exceeding $39,890,000 for the of purpose providing funds, together with any other available funds, to pay the cost of acquiring, constructing, developing, extending, enlarging, filling and improving public park and recreational facilities in the City of Miami, and 15,238 votes were cast by qualified electors against the issuance of said bonds.
