HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-43270AHR/JSL/rr 2/9/72 RESOLUTION NO. `3'Z76r A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRWTING THE CITY ATTORNEY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI TO DEFEND CERTAIN NAMED POLICE OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AGAINST WHOM CIVIL ACTIONS HAVE BEEN BROUGHT. WHEREAS, civil actions have been brought against the following named police officers in actions styled as follows: (1) Tania Jimenez vs. City and Vincent Joseph Smith, Circuit Court # 71-15311 (2) Luis Hechavarria vs. Bernard Garmire and Edward Westpy, Circuit Court #71-16417 (3) Phillip Kent Palmer vs. W. J. Cauchi and City, Circuit Court #71-19403 (4) Cleveland Frazier vs. City, Joseph M. Godwin and Robert E. Rice, Circuit Court #71-19448 (5) Thomas F. Wise vs. Artero Castro, Michael S. Tucker and Fred Harris, U.S. District Court #71-1639 (6) Willie C. Jackson vs. E. Wright and Michael J. Kelly, U. S. District Court #71-1705 (7) Edgar Dixon, et al vs. William Ledlow, Robert Webb and Michael Cosgrove, Circuit Court #71-23156 (8) Albert D. Nesbitt vs. City, Arthur F. Epperson and Robert Myers, U. S. District Court #71-1962; and WHEREAS, these actions appear to be the result of actions taken by the police officers while they were acting in their official capacities as police officers for the City of Miami; "DOCUMENT INDEX JTEM NO. 4-it '► CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF FEB i71972 RESOLUI CCN .�.; �t 3 Z7 kEtaAR S NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Attorney of the City of Miami be and he is hereby authorized and directed to defend the above named police officers of the City of Miami against whom civil actions have been brought.
