RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE 1968 AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES WITH THE FIRM OF BOLT, BERANEK AND NEWMAN, INC. TO
BE EXTENDED AND AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AS RECOMMENDED IN THE CITY MANAGER'S
MEMORANDUM OF FEBRUARY 17, 1972 FOR A COMPLETE NEW SOUND
AMPLIFICATION SYSTEM FOR THE ORANGE BOWL STADIUM; AND AUTHORIZ-
ING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO THE AMENDED AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, in 1968,•by Resolution #39778, the City engaged
the firm of Bolt, Beranek and Newman, Inc. for professional services
for the study, evaluation, and recommendation for improvements to the
sound system of the Orange Bowl Stadium; and
WHEREAS, the study furnished as a result of this agreement,
recommended certain interim improvements as well as established the
basis for a complete new "high quality" sound system; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution#43177, the funds necessary to
replace the sound system were provided; and
WHEREAS, now is the opportune time to replace the existing
system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the extension and amendment of the July 12,
1968 agreement for professional services between the City of Miami and
the consulting firm of Bolt, Beranek and Newman, Inc. to include the
development of plans and specifications as reconwiended in the City
Manager's memorandum of February 17, 1972 for a complete new sound
system for the Orange Bowl Stadium is hereby authorized.
Section 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized to enter into the extended and amended agreement with the
consultant firm of Bolt, Beranek and Newman, Inc.
