A RESOLUTION GRANTING A VARIANCE FROM
ORDINANCE NO. 6871, ARTICLE VI, SECTION
3 (1), TO PERMIT ERECTION OF CANVAS
CARPORT WITH FRONT SETBACK OF 5' (20'
REQUIRED), ON LOTS 16, 17 AND 18, BLOCK
54, EAST SHENANDOAH (14-55), LOCATED AT
3700 S. W. 3RD AVENUE, IN AN R-2 (TWO-
FAMILY) DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Board of the City
of Miami, at its meeting held on January 10, 1972, passed
and adopted by a 9 to 0 vote its Resolution No. 72-5, re-
commending granting a variance from Ordinance No. 6871,
Article VI, Section 3 (1), as hereinafter set forth; and
this Commission deems it advisable in the interest of the
general welfare of the City of Miami to grant this variance
requested on the ground that a refusal would result in
practical difficulties and unnecessary hardship to the
applicant under an R-2 (Two -Family) District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the application for a variance from
Ordinance No. 6871, Article VI, Section 3 (1), to permit
erection of canvas carport with front setback of 5' (20'
required), on Lots 16, 17 and 18, Block 54, EAST SHENANDOAH,
Plat Book 14, Page 55, located at 3700 S. W. 3rd Avenue, in
an R-2 (Two -Family) District, be and the same is hereby
granted.
Section 2. This variance shall become null and
void unless the use is commenced within six months of
the effective date of this Resolution. Extension may
be granted by the City Manager pursuant to the provisions
of Article XXXI, Section 4, of Ordinance No. 6871.
