A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE BEAUTIFICATION
COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND SCULPTORS
OF FLORIDA, INC. TO CONDUCT A STATE-WIDE COM-
PETITION IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A SUITABLE SCULPTURE
TO BE PLACED ON AN EXISTING FOUNDATION AT THE
MIAMARINA, THE SUBJECT OF SAID SCULPTURE TO HAVE
THE FINAL APPROVAL OF THE CITY COMMISSION AND IN-
STRUCTING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION
FOR A FEDERAL GRANT TO PAY THE COSTS IN CONNEC-
TION THEREWITH
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
That the Beautification Committee of the City
of Miami and Sculptors of Florida, Inc. are hereby
authorized to conduct a State-wide competition in order
to obtain a suitable sculpture to be placed on an exist-
ing foundation at the Miamarina, the subject of said
sculpture to have the final approval of the City Com-
mission and instructing the City Manager to make appli-
cation for a federal grant to pay the costs in connection
therewith.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of February, 1972.
