AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING CHAPTER
38/ARTICLE I OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED, TITLED "PARKS AND RECREATION/IN GENERAL," BY
CREATING SECTION 38-42, TITLED "NAMING OF SILVER BLUFF DOG
PARK" TO PROVIDE FOR THE NAMING OF THE PROPERTY CONSISTING
OF APPROXIMATELY 5,250 SQUARE FEET, LOCATED AT 2201
SOUTHWEST 26 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS "SILVER BLUFF DOG
PARK"; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ANY AND ALL
ACTIONS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE NAMING OF THE PARK;
CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") owns certain real property consisting of
approximately 5,250 square feet, located at 2201 Southwest 26th Street, Miami, Florida 33133,
and identified by Folio No. 01-4115-007-2590 ("Park"), situated within the Silver Bluff
neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, the City is currently undertaking the design and development of the Park to
include a dog park intended to enhance community recreation and promote active lifestyles for
residents and their pets; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is in the best interest of the
public to designate and name the Park "Silver Bluff Dog Park";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Chapter 38/Article I of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, is
further amended in the following particulars:1

ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL

Sec. 38-42. Naming of Silver Bluff Dog Park.
The parcel of land consisting of approximately 5,250 square feet, located at 2201
Southwest 26th Street, Miami, Florida, shall be named "Silver Bluff Dog Park."

Section 3. If any section, part of a section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this
Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final reading and
adoption thereof.2

2 This Ordinance shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within ten (10)
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Ordinance, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon the effective date stated
herein, whichever is later.
