Vesels, Boat Slips, Boat House,
Related Commercial
Purpose:
The amendments update definitions, clarify land use regulations, and modernize design standards
relating to Vessels, Boat Slips, Boat Houses, Docks / Piers, and Marine -Related Commercial
Establishments. A by Right process has been made available when proposals comply with specified
criteria. Updated standards support development and regulate their use, while also providing
protection for neighborhood character and mitigating the impact on adjacent properties.
Estimated Direct Economic Impact:
• Eliminates certain entitlement costs through expanded by -right allowances.
• Reduces regulatory expenses for businesses meeting defined criteria.
• Supports commercial and recreational vessel activity, increasing marine -related revenue.
• Provides clearer permitting standards, reducing delays and administrative costs.
• Enables efficient dock and pier extensions that enhance waterfront property value.
Estimated Number of Businesses to be Impacted:
The proposed amendment will support both existing and prospective marine -related businesses, as
well as waterfront property owners seeking to establish or expand their dock and pier facilities and
marine -related commercial establishments.

• Expanding water -related recreational opportunities
Allowing vessel storage while shielding Vessels from public view
Protecting the City's scenic Waterfront View Corridors
