A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY MANAGER TO TERMINATE THE EX-
TENSION OF AGREEMENT EXECUTED SEPTEMBER
30, 1971 BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND
DORIS E. McALLISTER TO OPERATE THE
CONCESSION AT LUMMUS PARK, SAID EXTENSION
OF AGREEMENT NORMALLY ENDING JUNE 30, 1972;
AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT FOR A TERM OF TWO (2) YEARS FROM
FEBRUARY 1, 1972 AND ENDING JANUARY 31, 1974,
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND BARBARA MEEKS
TO OPERATE THE CONCESSION AT LUMMUS PARK,
SUBJECT TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS PRO-
VIDED IN THE AGREEMENT, THE SAME BEING
ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF.
WHEREAS, on June 19, 1969, the City of Miami entered
into an agreement with Doris E. McAllister to operate a con-
cession at Lummus Park for a period of two (2) years commencing
July 1, 1969 and ending June 30, 1971. That on September 30,
1971, said agreement was extended for a period of one (1) year
from July 1, 1971 through June 30, 1972; and
WHEREAS, in December, 1971, Doris E. McAllister submitted
a letter to the City Manager stating to the effect that she had
operated the concession at Lummus Park for over twenty-four (24)
years; that she no longer desired to operate the concession at
Lummus Park, and requested that Barbara Meeks be granted the
operation of the Lummus Park concession; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the
Department of Parks and Recreation recommend that the Extension
of Agreement with Doris E. McAllister be terminated and that a
new agreement be entered into between the City of Miami and

January 31, 1974.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to terminate the Extension of Agreement executed
September 30, 1971 between the City of Miami and Doris E.
McAllister to operate the concession at Lummus Park.
Section 2. The City Manager and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute an agreement for a term of
two (2) years from February 1, 1972 through January 31, 1974,
between the City of Miami and Barbara Meeks to operate the
concession at Lummus Park subject to the terms and conditions
as provided in the agreement, the same being attached hereto
and made a part hereof.
