A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID RE-
CEIVED NOVEMBER 27, 1973 FOR FURN-
ISHING ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND
(150,000) FOUR COLOR BROCHURES IN
ENGLISH AND SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND
(75,000) IN SPANISH FOR THE DEPARTMENT
OF PUBLICITY AND TOURISM OF EASTERN
LITHO AT A TOTAL COST OF $11,960.00
WITH RERUN IN ONE (1) YEAR AT $3,725.00
AND EIGHTEEN (18) MONTHS AT $6,625.00
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO IN-
STRUCT THE PURCHASING DIVISION TO ISSUE A
PURCHASE ORDER FOR THE INITIAL AMOUNT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were
received November 27, 1973 for furnishing one hundred and fifty
thousand (150,000) Four Color Brochures in English and seventy-
five thousand (75,000) in Spanish for the Department of Publicity
and Tourism; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty (20)
potential suppliers and two (2) bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bid
of Eastern Litho for furnishing one hundred and fifty thousand
(150,000) Four Color Brochures in English and seventy-five
thousand (75,000) in Spanish for the Department of Publicity
and Tourism at a total cost of $11,960.00 with rerun in one
(1) year at $3,725.00 and eighteen (18) months at $6,625.00
bekaccepted since it is the lowest and best bid and further
recommends that the award be made to said corporation; and
WHEREAS, these brochures are primarily utilized in
response to requests from travel agencies, airlines and ads
placed with newspapers, magazines, radio, TV and other media; and
WHEREAS, funding for this purchase has been provided
for in the current budget for this fiscal year and the total

cost is split between the City of Miami and Metropolitan
Dade County; and
WHEREAS, provisions for reruns are to be incor-
porated in View of the fantastic rise in paper cost and the
potential scarcity of the supplier; and
WHEREAS, the City has the option of accepting or
refusing the reruns which would be based on the subsequent
requirements and the availability of funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The bid received on November 27, 1973
of Eastern Litho to furnish one hundred and fifty thousand
(150,000) Four Color Brochures in English and seventy-five
thousand (75,000) in Spanish for the Department of Publicity
and Tourism at a total cost of $11,960.00 with rerun in one
(1) year at $3,725.00 and eighteen (18) months at $6,625.00,
be,and the same is hereby accepted, and the City Manager is
hereby authorized to instruct the Purchasing Division to
issue a Purchase Order for the initial amount of $11,960.00.
