A. RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE ACTION OF THE
CITY MANAGER IN APPLYING TO THE STATE OF
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF A.DMINISTRA.TION FOR
AN EXEMPTION FOR THE CITY or MIAMI SOCIAL
SECURITY COVERAGE ON PART[' -TIME EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Administration notified
the City of Miami of the City's option to exclude part-time City employees from
Federal Social Security coverage; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami desires to exercise its option and exclude
part-time employees from Social Security coverage; and
WHEREAS, there was not sufficient time to propose an ordinance to the
City Commission for adoption prior to the December 16, 1973, deadline set by
the State of Florida Department of Administration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the action taken by the City Manager in applying to the
State of Florida Department of Administration for an exemption for the City of
Miami Social Security coverage on part-time employees is hereby ratified.
