HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-73-0994MC/aeb 12/4/71 RtgbtorrOs toN°1111,13 OTC 6 1444 ::Q 2 A ' RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID QUOTATION OF PESTONIT NURSERY & FLOWERS FOR FURNISH- ING AND PLAITING FREES - 1974 AND AUTHOR- IZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS AS NEEDED TO MEET THE CITY'S RE- QUIREMENTS FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR OF 1974 SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, mapy times a year, trees in the center and side parkways of Miami streets are destroyed in traffic accidents or for other reasons require replacements. WHEREAS, in the 1973-74 Budget the amount of $10,000 was. provided for use by the Department of Public Works in replacing such trees. WHEREAS, the City Manager has approved a plan under which payments for trees damaged in traffic accidents shall be credited to the budget account to provide a revolving fund account. WHEREAS, pursuant to due public notice and the mailing of specifications to 18 firms, Bid Quotations were received on N©veaber 26, 1973 from two firms. WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the Bid Quotation of Pestonit Nursery & Flowers is the lowest and best responsive bid and recommends that purchase orders be issued as needed to meet City requirements subject to availability of funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Manager accept the bid of November 26, 1973 from Pestonit Nursery & Flowers for FURNISHING AND PLANTING TREES - 1974 at the unit prices stated therein. tliDEX spL f, fiE1vM NO. Section 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to issue Purchase Orders as needed to meet the City's requirements for replacing trees in the center and side parkways of City streets which are destroyed by traffic accidents or other- wise, subject to the availability of funds. Section 3. That funds received by the City in payment for the aforementioned destroyed trees shall be credited to the account to create and maintain a revolving fund account for tree replacement.
