A RESOLUTION THAT THE POLICY OF THE CITY
COMMISSION IS THAT THE CITY MANAGER WILL
COMPLY WITH THE ORDER OF THE FEDERAL COURT
IN THE CASE STYLED FRANKLIN COHEN, ET AL.
VS, CITY OF MIAMI, ET AL. REQUIRING THE
APPOINTMENT OF A BLACK OFFICER IN A POLICY
MAKING POSITION NOT LATER THAN DECEMBER 12,
1973, AND IN THE EVENT THAT THE CITY MANAGER
IS UNABLE TO COMPLY WITHIN THAT TIME PERIOD
HE WILL REPORT BACK TO THE CITY COMMISSION
THE REASONS THEREFOR.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the policy of the City Commission is
that the City Manager will comply with the order of the Federal
Court in the case styled FRANKLIN COHEN, ET AL VS. CITY OF MIAMI,
ET AL. requiring the appointment of a black officer in a policy
making position not later than December. 12, 1973, and in the event
that the City Manager is unable to comply within that time period
he will report back to the City Commission the reasons therefor.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8 day of November , 1973.
