HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-73-0906RFC/aeb 11/6/73 RESOLUTION NO. 73-906 Noy '1?-M�4fi 1 p# Is A RESOLUTION RATIFYING, CONFIRMING AND APPROVING THE ACTIONS OF THE CITY MANAGER IN INFORMALLY SECURING CLEANING SERVICES FOR THE AFTER GAME CLEAN-UP AT THE ORANGE BOWL STADIUM AS NEEDED; FURTHER AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF OUTSTANDING INVOICES IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,850.00 FOR CLEAN-UP SERVICES THROUGH OCTOBER 21, 1973 AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING FUTURE PAYMENTS TO PROVIDE CLEAN-UP SERVICES THROUGHOUT THE CURRENT FOOTBALL SEASON FROM AVAILABLE BUDGETED FUNDS IN THE 1973-1974 BUDGET. WHEREAS, the problem of securing prompt and complete satisfactory clean-up services following the staging of events and games at the Orange Bowl Stadium renders com- petitive bid procedures not only impractical but im- possible on account of lack of bid specifications due to the time element involved in the interval between the events and games; and WHEREAS, the City Commission in past years has considered the nature of the problem and the quality of the services and has authorized the City Manager to in- formally secure cleaning services without the necessity of compliance with sealed competitive bid procedures; and WHEREAS, the public interest will best be served by omitting the procedures involved in the securing of sealed competitive bids. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The actions of the City Manager in informally securing necessary cleaning services for the post -game clean-up required in the Orange Bowl Stadium be and the same are hereby ratified, confirmed and approved. • Section 2. Payment of outstanding invoices for such clean-up services through October 21, 1973 be and the same is hereby authorized by the proper City Officials in the amount of $5,850.00. Section 3. Future payments to provide clean-up services throughout the current football season be and the same are hereby authorized from available budgeted funds in the 1973-1974 budget.
