A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING, RATIFYING
AND CONFIRMING THE ACTION OF THE CITY
MANAGER IN EXECUTING AND DELIVERING
75 APPLICATIONS FOR FEDERAL GRANTS FOR
WASTE WATER TREATMENT WORKS AS LISTED
HEREIN.
WHEREAS, The City of Miami received final confirmation on
October 16, 1973 that it was eligible to apply for Federal Grants
for 75 Waste Water Treatment Works on which construction was
initiated after June 30, 1956; and
WHEREAS, the City has expended some $20 million on the
aforesaid construction; and
WHEREAS, $1,168,720.00 in Federal Grants has been received
for said construction; and
WHEREAS, Public Law 92-500 provides that up to 55% of eligible
project costs may be recovered in Federal Grants which could amount
to an additional estimated $10 million; and
WHEREAS, The City of Miami, as a result of filing new
applications, may be eligible to receive all or a portion of said
$10 million; and
WHEREAS, in order to meet required deadlines it was essential
that the City Manager file the 75 applications for grants on or
before October 17, 1973; and
WHEREAS, said 75 applications have been executed and delivered
on October 17, 1973 to a representative of the Regional Director
of the Environmental Protection Agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the action of the City Manager in executing
and delivering on October 17, 1973 to a representative of the
Regional Director of the Federal Environmental Protection Agency

Section 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to provide any additional information and to execute and deliver any
additional documents which may be requested by the Environmental
Protection Agency in connection with the aforesaid 75 applications
for Federal Grants.
