A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH METROPOLITAN DADE
COUNTY FOR THE LEASE OF THE CITY
OWNED ORANGE BOWL PARKING LOT
BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY N. W. 7TH
STREET, ON THE SOUTH BY N. W. 6TH
STREET, ON THE EAST BY N. W. 14TH
AVENUE AND ON THE WEST BY N. W. 16TH
AVENUE FOR A ONE YEAR PERIOD WITH AN
ADDITIONAL ONE YEAR RENEWAL OPTION.
WHEREAS, the County intends to establish a park -and -ride
service from the Orange Bowl parking lot to the Justice Building - Civic
Center area; and
WHEREAS, this park -and -ride service will be offered at no charge
to either the general public or the employees of the Justice Building - Civic
Center area; and
WHEREAS, the City owns the Orange Bowl parking lot, bounded on
the north by N. W. 7th Street, on the south by N. W. 6th Street, on the east
by N. W. 14th Avenue, and on the west by N. W. 16th Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the County has requested the City's permission to use
this existing parking lot at the Orange Bowl for daytime parking; and
WHEREAS, both parties recognize the public benefit in alleviating
parking congestion in and around the Justice Building - Civic Center area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to enter into an agreement with Metropolitan Dade County for the Lease of the
City owned Orange Bowl Parking Lot Bounded on the North by N.W. 7th Street,
on the south by N.W. 6th Street, on the east by N. W. 14th Avenue and on the
west by N.W. 16th Avenue for a one year period with an additional one year
renewal option.
