RESOLUTION NO. 739Z-
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A THREE-MONTH EX-
TENSION OF EMPLOYMENT PAST THE AGE OF 70
FOR RAFAEL GARCIA, INTERPRETER CLERK,
POLICE DEPARTMENT, EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 29,
1973 TO JANUARY 29, 1974, WITH THE PRO-
VISION THAT IN THE EVENT OF A ROLLBACK
OR LAYOFF, MR. GARCIA, RATHER THAN A
JUNIOR EMPLOYEE, WOULD BE AFFECTED.
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police, Police Department, has
recommended an extension of employment past the age of 70 for
Rafael Garcia, Interpreter Clerk, Police Department, effective
October 29, 1973 to January 29, 1974; and
WHEREAS, the City Physician has determined that the
physical condition of said Rafael Garcia is satisfactory for
continued employment; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Board has unanimously
recommended the approval of employment past the age of 70 for said
Rafael Garcia for an additional three (3) months,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. A three-month extension of employment past
the age of 70 for Rafael Garcia, Interpreter Clerk, Police Depart-
ment, effective October 29, 1973 to January 29, 1974, is hereby
approved, with the provision that in the event of a rollback or
layoff, Mr. Garcia, rather than a junior employee, would be affected.
