A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY DEDICATED BY THE PLAT OF SUMMIT PARK IS NO LONGER NEEDED FOR PARK PURPOSES; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY TO METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY,_FLORIDA BY QUIT CLAIM DEED THE CITY'S INTEREST IN SAID LAND .FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PUBLIC DAY CARE CENTER. • WHEREAS, on March 15, 1973, the Metropolitan Dade County Department of Housing and Urban Development requested the City of Miami to convey to Dade County a small undeveloped park area located within Neighborhood Development Program Area #3 hear Jackson Memorial Hospital; and WHEREAS, the subject parcel of land located at N.W. 8 Court between 17 and 18 Streets was publicly dedicated as a park by the Summit Park plat filed for record in 1912; and WHEREAS, this park has never been developed and is no longer needed nor is it of sufficient size nor properly located for development as a public park; and WHEREAS, the best public use that could be made of the property is to become a part of the proposed Metropolitan Dade County public day care center along with the remaining parcels within this block which have previously been acquired by Dade County; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 73-362 authorized the City Manager to negotiate with Dade County for the transfer of this land; and WHEREAS, the proposed public day pare center, which will be constructed and operated by Metropolitan Dade County, will be utilized by and service the needs of the citizens of the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County, Florida has agreed to reciprocate in kind in the future by transfering property to the City of Miami for public purpose. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That it is determined that certain property dedicated by the plat of Summit Park is no longer needed for park purposes. Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to convey to Metropolitan Dade County, Florida by quit claim deed the City's interest in the following described land for the development of a public day care center: That land designated as "Park" lying between Tract A and B as shown on the plat of Summit Park as re- corded in Plat Bood 1 at Page 110 of the Public Records of Dade County, Florida, being more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest corner of Tract A as shown on the plat of Summit Park (1/110), thence running Northwardly along the extension of the Easterly line of Tract A for a distance of 71 feet more or less to a point on the Southerly boundary of Tract B, thence proceeding westwardly along the Southerly line of Tract B for a distance of 52.5 feet more or less to the Southwest corner of said Tract B, thence proceeding Southwardly along the Southerly extension of the Westerly line of Tract B for a dis- tance of 71 feet more or less to the point of beginning, containing approximately 3,727.5 square feet.
