RESOLUTION NO. 73 4 2
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR
OF FINANCE TO PAY TO TANIA JIMENEZ, A
MINOR, BY AND THROUGH HER MOTHER AND
NEXT FRIEND, MARIA JIMENEZ, AND MARIA
JIMENEZ, INDIVIDUALLY, THE SUM OF
$3,000.00 PLUS TAXABLE COSTS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $85.00, IN FULL AND COMPLETE
SATISFACTION OF A JUDGMENT ENTERED IN
THE CIRCUIT COURT, IN AND FOR DADE COUNTY,
FLORIDA, IN FAVOR OF SAID PLAINTIFF AND
AGAINST THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the Plaintiff, TANIA JIMENEZ, a minor, by
and through her mother and next friend, MARIA JIMENEZ, and
MARIA JIMENEZ, Individually, filed an action against the
City of Miami for dog bite injuries to the 4-year old child
sustained on September 27, 1970 at or around 1542 S. W.
First Street, in the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, trial was had in the Circuit Court and a
verdict was rendered by the Jury against the City of Miami
and in favor of the Plaintiff, in the sum of $3,000.00; and
WHEREAS, costs have been taxed in the amount of $85.00;
and
WHEREAS, it is advantageous for the City of Miami to
pay this amount to effect a savings and to avoid the running
on interest;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Director of Finance be and he is
hereby directed to pay to TANIA JIMENEZ, a minor, by and

through her mother and next friend, MARIA JIMENEZ, and
MARIA JIMENEZ, Individually, the amount of $3,000.00 plus
taxable costs in the amount of $85.00, in full and complete
satisfaction of a Judgment entered in the Circuit Court, in
and for Dade County, Florida, in favor of said Plaintiff
and against the City of Miami, Florida.
