AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 6871,
THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR
THE CITY OF MIAMI, BY CHANGING THE ZONING
CLASSIFICATION OF SPDXL ISLAND LYING OFF
N. E. 64TH STREET, FROM R-1 (ONE -FAMILY)
DISTRICT TO P-R (PARKS -RECREATION) DISTRICT;
AND BY MAKING THE NECESSARY CHANGES IN
THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP MADE A PART OF
SAID ORDINANCE NO. 6871 BY REFERENCE AND
DESCRIPTION IN ARTICLE:III, SECTION 2,
THEREOF; AND BY REPEALING ALL LAWS IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH. .
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Board of the
City of Miami, at its meeting held on March 26, 1973,
passed and adopted by a 9 to 0 vote its Resolution No.
73-72, recommending granting a change in zoning classification,
as hereinafter set forth; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable in the best
interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and
its inhabitants to grant a change in zoning classification,
as hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 6871, the
Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance for the City of Miami, be
and the same is hereby amended by changing the zoning
classification for Spoil Island lying off N. E. 64th
Street from R-1 (One -Family) District to P-R (Parks -
Recreation) District; and by making the necessary changes
in the zoning district map made a part of said Ordinance
No. 6871 by reference and description in Article III,
Section 2, thereof.

Section 2. That all laws, or parts of laws,
in conflict herewith, be and the same are hereby repealed
inso.:ar as the above described land is involved.
Section 3. It is declared to be the legislative
intent of this body that if any section, subsection, sentence,
phrase or provisiion of this Ordinance is held invalid,
the remainder of the Ordinance shall not be affected.

The Miami City Commission, at its meeting of THURSDAY,
May 10, 1973, at 10:30 A. M. , in gJTY HALL. 3500 Pan
American Drive, Dinner Key, Miami, Florida, will consider
the following:
Area Hearing for that area bounded on the south by
N. E. 60th Street, on the west by Biscayne Boule-
vard, on the north by N. E. 72nd Street, and on
the east by Biscayne Bay, as proposed by the City
of Miami Planning Department Study entitled
"NORTHEAST AREA STUDY", dated October 1972, and
revised March, 1973.
At its meeting of March 26, 1973, the Miami Planning Board
made the following recommendations in accordance with the
Study:
Resolution No. 73-72, by a to 0 vote, recommending a Change
of Zoning Classification of the Spoil Island lying off N. E.
64th Street, from R-1 (Ore Family) to P-R (Parks -Recreation):
Resolution No. 73-73, by a 9 to 0 vote, recommending a Change
of Zoning Classification of that portion of Tentative Plat
#793-A -- "M.IAMI CLUI APARTMENTS" lying east of Lots 31 and 32,
FALLESON PARK A.MI) (4-19) , located at N. E. 63rd Street and
Biscayne Bay, from R-4 (Medium Density Multiple) to R-3 (Low
Density Multiple): and Resolution No. 73-74, by a 5 to 4 vote,
recommending a Change of Zoning Classification of Lots 1 and
2 and that portion of Lot 3 lying south of the extension of
N. E. 69th Street, MCZAY Tor9ERS (75-18), from R-5 (High
Density Multiple) to R-4 (Medium Density Multiple).
The Planning Department report is available for review at the
Planning Board office, 3318 Pan American Drive, Dinner Key.
All interested persons are invited to attend.

410, following an advertised hearing, adopted Resolution No. 73-72
by a 9 to 0 vote recommending a Change of Zoning Classification of
the Spoil Island lying off N. E. 64th Street, from R-1 (One -Family)
to P-R (Parks -Recreation).
Sixteen objections were received in the mail.
An ORDINANCE to provide for this Change of Zoning has been prepared
by the City Attorney's office and submitted for consideration of the
City Commission.
