JA liAY 1 8 7973 MIAMI MODERN POLICE HEADQUARTERS - Summary of Proposals Received from Architects for Design _r, V=NZE: Services SN::LOSURSS: The City Commission by Resolution No. 72-846, adopted December 28, 1972, authorized the City Manager to receive proposals from architects for the design of police facilities to be developed on property being acquired in the Downtown Government Center. The Resolution further provided that the result of the architects' submissions be presented to the City Commission for its consideration. An invitation to submit proposals, a synopsis of the proposed work, and a City of Miami architect questionnaire were sent to approxi- mately 320 architectural firms in Dade County. A notice of the proposed work was also published in the newsletter of the Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects which has a membership of 1200 firms throughout the state of Florida. We also sent this notice to 19 chapters of the FAAIA throughout the state of Florida. These proposals were to be submitted to the City before March 30, 1973.
