HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-73-03143 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 3. 3 RESOLUTION ';O. 73-314 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN PERMANENT EASEMENTS TO THE UNITED STATES FOR THE VIRGINIA KEY, KEY BISCAYNE BEACH NOURISIItiMENT PROJECT. WHEREAS; the City of Miami by Resolution No. 36615 adopted May 5, 1965, gave assurances of the City of Miami's participation in the Beach Nourishment Project; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami by Resolution No. 39777 adopted June 13, 1968 granted easements to the United States, over certain City owned land on Virginia Key for the Placement of sand and dredged material in connection with the afore- mentioned Beach Nourishment Project; and WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers has requested the City of Miami to grant additional rights to the United States in those lands covered by the aforementioned easement as shown on the attached sketch; and WHEREAS, said additional rights are required in connection with the aforementioned Beach Nourishment Project and are particularly described in the attached easement instrument; and WHEREAS, these additional rights are to be conveyed to the United States in the form of a new perpetual and assignable easement to the aforementioned lands; and WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers has also requested that the City of Miami convey to the United States a perpetual and assignable easement to an additional area of City owned land on the North end of Virginia Key, as shown on the attached sketch, in order that a groin can be constructed and access theret be provided. Said groin to Le constructed in conjunction .'it`_i i 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 '25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 NOW, TIIEREFORE, BE IT PESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF T fl CITY OF MIAiII, FLORIDA: Section 1: That the City of Miami adopts and finds these matters set out in the foregoing recitals, and hereby approves the conveyance of said easements, attached hereto and made a part of this resolution, to the.United States. Section 2: That the City Manager and City Clerk be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver to the United States of America the attached easements.
