A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST
BID AS RECEIVED FROM SOUTHERN GUN DISTRIBUTORS,
INC. FOR FURNISHING ONE HUNDRED (100) SMITH &
WESSON 38 CALIBER REVOLVERS FOR USE BY THE
POLICE DEPARTMENT, AT A TOTAL COST OF $4,350.00
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT
THE PURCHASING DIVISION TO ISSUE A PURCHASE
ORDER FOR SAME.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids were
received February 27, 1973 for furnishing one hundred (100)
Smith & Wesson 38 caliber revolvers for use by the Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to sixteen (16)
potential suppliers and six (6) bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the lowest and best bid was received from
Southern Gun Distributors, Inc. for furnishing one hundred (100)
Smith & Wesson 38 caliber revolvers for use by the Police
Department, at a total cost of $4,350.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLDRIDA:
Section 1. The lowest and best bid as received from
Southern Gun Distributors, Inc. for furnishing one hundred (100)
Smith & Wesson 38 caliber revolvers for use by the Police
Department, at a total cost of $4,350.00 is hereby accepted, and
the City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Purchasing
Division to issue a purchase order for same.
