RESOLUTION NO. 7.5 -4104%'73 MAR 13 Aal 8 : 31 A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE BID RECEIVED MARCH 7, 1973, OF INTERCOUNTY CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $430,737.50 FOR THE LEJEUNE GARDENS HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4353 (STORM SEWER); ALLOCATING THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $53,444.00 FROM THE STORM SEWER BOND FUND; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE AFORESAID WORK; ACCEPTING FROM FLORIDA UNDERGROUND UTILITIES, INC. THE AMOUNT OF $702.50 AS FULL AND FINAL SETTLEMENT FOR FAILURE TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK WHICH CONTRACT WAS BY RESOLUTION NO. 73-27 ADOPTED JANUARY 11,1973. WHEREAS, bids were received March 7, 1973 for LEJEUNE GARDENS HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4353 (STORM SEWER) ; and WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the bid of Intercounty Construction Corporation in the estimated amount of $430,737.50 is the lowest bid (acceptable) and recommends that contract be awarded to said firm; and WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $53,444.00 are available for allocation from the Storm Sewer Bond Fund; and WHEREAS, a previous bid was received for a major portion of this work and a contract awarded to Florida Underground Utilities, Inc. by Resolution No. 73-27, adopted January 11, 1973 but this firm refused to execute a contract and has forfeited the amount of $702.50 in the form of a check which has been tendered to the City, this being the difference between the $383,020.00 bid of Florida Underground Utilities, Inc. and the $383,722.50 bid of Intercounty Construction Corporation for the exact same portion of the work; and 36 73'a0i 1 2 3 4 5 6 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 -9 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 -29 0 31 32 33 34 35 36 WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works recommends accepting the aforesaid $702.50, releasing Florida Underground Utilities, Inc. and accepting the bid of Intercounty Construction Corporation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEEK BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the $702.50 payment tendered by Florida Underground Utilities, Inc., in consideration of the City releasing said firm from the requirement of executing a contract for LEJEUNE GARDENS HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4353 (STORM SEWER) be, and the same is hereby accepted. • Section 2. That the March 7, 1973 bid of Intercounty Construction Corporation, for LEJEUNE GARDENS HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4353 (STORM SEWER), namely Bids D and F of Proposal, based on unit prices, at a total estimated cost of $430,737.50 be, and the same is hereby accepted. Section 3. That the additional amount of $53,444.00 be, and the same is hereby, allocated from the Storm Sewer Bond Fund to cover the cost of the aforesaid work. Section 4.
