A RESOLUTION ORDERING NORTH BAYSHORE
DRIVE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4359 AND
DESIGNATING THE PROPERTY AGAINST WHICH
SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS SHALL BE MADE FOR A
PORTION OF THE COST THEREOF AS NORTH
BAYSHORE DRIVE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT H-4359; AND ALLOCATING THE
AMOUNT OF $35,000 FROM THE HIGHWAY GENERAL
OBLIGATION BOND FUND FOR PRELIMINARY
EXPENSE.
WHEREAS, heavy traffic use of streets in the
improvement area have reduced the pavement to poor
condition; and
WHEREAS, low elevation of the area causes flooding
during heavy rains resulting in numerous complaints from
property owners; and
WHEREAS, a petition has been received requesting
highway and drainage improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Improvement would be contiguous.
with Plaza Venetia development directly to the north; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to widen and completely
rebuild the existing pavement and provide concrete curb
and gutter for vehicular and pedestrian safety; and
WHEREAS, this is one of the first three projects
to be designed with the aid of Private Highway Engineering
Consultants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
•F THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. A local Improvement described as NORTH
YSHORE DRIVE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4359 shall be made
nder Section 56 of the Charter of the City of Miami as
ended, located on the following streets:

Section 2. This Improvement shall include clearing
and grading, excavating and filling, construction of a full
width asphaltic concrete pavement, consisting of limerock'
base material and asphalt binder and surface courses, concrete
curb and gutter, drainage structures and landscaping as
specified and described in the Standard City of Miami
Specifications for Public Works projects.
Section 3. This Improvement shall be designated
in all proceedings and assessments as NORTH BAYSHORE DRIVE
HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT H-4359 and the property against
which special assessments shall be made for a portion of the
cost thereof, hereunder shall be designated as NORTH
BAYSHORE DRIVE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT H-4359.
Section 4. The sum of $35,000 shall be allocated
from the Highway General Obligation Bond Fund for
preliminary expense.
