HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-08140ORDINANCE NO. 8140 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE NO. 8097 ADOPTED SEPTEr'1R R 22, 1972 TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF $308,000 FROM THE ORANGE BOWL FUND BALANCE TO COVER THE TILE COST OF CEH'L'AIN REPAIRS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE ORANGE BOWL STADIUM; DECLARING THIS TO BE AN EMERGENCY i•IEASURE ON THE GROUND OF URGENT PUBLIC NEED FOR THE PRESERVATION OF PEACE, HEALTH, SAFETY AND PROPERTY OP THE CITY OF MIAMI AND DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT TO READ TIHIS ORDINANCE ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR-FIFTIHS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended that certain repairs and improvements to the Orange Bowl Stadium be accomplished this year; and WHEREAS, the cost of the aforesaid work .,n,luding engineering and incidental expenses has been estimated at $308,000 and funds are available for appropriation from the Orange Bowl Fund Balance; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the preservation of peact: health, safety and property of the City of Miami that the work be accomplished as expeditiously as possible and that this Ordinance be adopted us an emergency measure. NOW, THEREF'uhi✓ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI , FLORIDA: Section 1. That Appropriation Ordinance No. 8099 adopted September 22, 1972 be and the same is hereby ammended to provide for the additional appropriation from the Orange Bowl Fund Balance of $308,000, to cover the cost of certain repairs and improvements to the Orange Bowl Stadium as recommended by the City Manager and authorized by City Commission Resolution passed and adopted February 22, 1973. Section 2. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure on the ground of urgent public need for the preservation of peace, health, safety and property of The City of Miami. Section 3. Tfti1.: the requirement of reading this Ordinance on two separate days is hereby dispensed with b,-' a vote of not less th,_lri four -fifths of the members of the Commission.
