A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONSTRUCTION OF
A VAULT IN THE STREET RIGHT OF WAY IN FRONT
OF THE SOUTHERN BELL TELEPHONE WAND TELEGRAPH
COMPANY OFFICE AT 36 N. E. 2 STREET AND
AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A PERMIT THEREFOR
WHEREAS, The Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph
Company office at 36 N. E. 2 Street is overcrowded and outmoded
and to relieve these conditions Southern Bell is constructing an
electronically operated office at the northwest corner of N.W. 5
Street and North Miami Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Southern Bell has requested permission to
construct a vault under the sidewalk in the street right of way
adjacent to their building at 36 N. E. 2 Street, which vault would
allow access for the splicing crews through their office building
instead of utilizing a manhole in the public right of way, such
plan obviating the necessity of blocking traffic on N. E. 2
Street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the proposed construction by Southern
Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company of a vault in front of their
office building at 36 N. E. 2 Street be, and the same is hereby,
approved provided however, that the plans for said vault conform
to applicable City of Miami Standards and are approved by the
Department of Public Works prior to the construction of said vault.
Section 2. That the proper official of The City of
Miami be, and he is hereby, authorized to issue a permit to construct
aforesaid vault.
