RESOLUTION NO. 73'-/I/'
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO PURCHASE BY NEGOTIATION IN LIEU OF
CONDEMNATION PARCEL 88 N - 7088.9 OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI DOWNTOWN GOVERNMENT
CENTER, AS DESCRIBED HEREIN, FOR THE
SUM OF $57,620; AND ALLOCATING $58,000
FROM POLICE HEADQUARTERS AND CRIME
PREVENTION FACILITIES BOND FUND TO COVER
THE COST AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS EXPENSES
PERTINENT TO THE ACQUISITION OF FEE
SIMPLE TITLE TO THIS PROPERTY, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AC-
COMPLISH BUILDING DEMOLITION ON SAID
PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, Parcel 88 N - 7088.9 is a portion of the
property proposed to be acquired for the Downtown Government
Center facilities; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Miami approved
the issuance of bonds to provide the funds to defray the cost
of such property acquisition to provide modern police and
crime prevention facilities; and
WHEREAS, the necessary monies for said acquisition
are available in the Police Headquarters and Crime Prevention
Facilities Bond Fund; and
WHEREAS, the owner of Parcel 88 N - 7088.9 has by
agreement dated February 2, 1973, offered to convey Fee Simple
Title to this property to the City of Miami for $57,620.00; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interest of the
City of Miami to acquire this property at this time through
negotiated purchase;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager is 'hereby authorized
and directed to purchase Parcel 88 N - 7088.9 of the Downtown
Government Center for the sum of $57,620.00, said parcel
being described as follows:
Lot 10 and the West 40 feet of Lot 9,
Block 88 North, A. L. Knowlton Map of
Miami, as accorded in Plat Book B on
Page 41 of the Public Records of Dade
county, Florida.
Section 2. $58,000 should be allocated from Police
Headquarters and Crime Prevention Facilities Bond Fund to
cover the cost of acquiring Fee Simple Title to the herein
described parcel of land.
Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to receive bids and/or take such other actions as may be
necessary to accomplish the demolition of the existing buildings
on this property by contract or by use of City forces.
