HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-73-01020\ RESOLUTION NO. ,,, 4,, ,, A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH SPENCER MARKETING SERVICES FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW SCOREBOARD FOR THE MIAMI BASEBALL STADIUM AND TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDMENT TO THE EXISTING LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND THE BALTIMORE BASEBALL CLUB, INC. PROVID- ING FOR THE RELINQUISHING OF ADVERTISING RIGHTS BY THE BALTIMORE BASEBALL CLUB, ING. FOR THAT PORTION OF THE OUTFIELD FENCE THAT WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE NEW SCOREBOARD. WHEREAS, the Miami Baseball Stadium scoreboard was installed in 1949. WHEREAS, Spencer Marketing Services, a New York firm, has proposed to install a modern scoreboard at the Miami Baseball Stadium with no capital expenditure required of the City; and WHEREAS, Spencer Marketing Services will install the scoreboard, obtain all advertising to be displayed on the scoreboard, and provide all electrical fixtures, control panels, electrical wiring, and adequate scoreboard repair parts; and WHEREAS, the Baltimore Baseball Club, Inc. will relinquish their rights to the portion of the outfield fence advertising that will be required for installation of the new scoreboard. NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Manager and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with Spencer Marketing Services for the installation of a new scoreboard at the Iviiami Baseball Stadium. Section 2. That the City Manager and the City Clerk are authorized and directed to enter into an amendment to the existing Lease Agreement between the City of Miami and the. Baltimore Baseball Club, Inc. to provide Pa 12,0 1 of 2 • for the relinquishing of advertising rights by the Baltimore Baseball Club, Inc. for that portion of the outfield fence advertising that will be required for installation of the new scoreboard at the Miami Baseball Stadium.
