RESOLUTION NO, IS
A RESOLUTION ORDERING VIRGINIA GROVE
HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4358 AND DESIG-
NATING THE PROPERTY AGAINST WHICH
SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS 'SHALL BE MADE FOR
A PORTION OF THE COST THEREOF AS VIRGINIA
GROVE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT H-4358;
AND ALLOCATING THE AMOUNT OF $3,000 FROM
THE HIGHWAY GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND FUND
FOR PRELIMINARY EXPENSE.
WHEREAS, many properties in the Coconut Grove Area
abutting Florida Avenue, Rice Street, Virginia Street and
Oak Avenue have rapidly developed to multi -family residential
and commercial usage; and
WHEREAS, some of the adjacent streets in the area have
been developed with full width pavement under a recent highway
improvement; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to rebuild some of the existing
streets, redevelop others in the area and to provide concrete
gutters and curbing for vehicular and pedestrian safety, with
proper drainage;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF M IAM I , F LOR IDA :
Section 1. A local improvement described as VIRGINIA
GROVE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4358 shall be made under Section 56
of the Charter of the City of Miami, as amended, located as
follows:
Virginia Street (between Grand Avenue and
Bird Avenue)
Rice Street (between Grand Avenue and Oak Avenue)
Florida Avenue (between Virginia Street and Mary
Street)
Oak Avenue (between S.W. 32 Avenue and Vir9inia Street)

Section 2. This improvement shall include clearing and
grading of the street right of way, construction of a 34 foot
wide, 8 inch thick limerock base, and a one inch thick Type I
asphaltic concrete surface course 34 feet wide. It will also
include necessary intersections, returns, concrete gutter and
curbing, drainage facilities and landscaping.
Section 3. This improvement shall be designated in all
proceedings and assessments as VIRGINIA GROVE HIGHWAY IMPROVE-
MENT H-4358 and the property against which special assessments
shall be made for a portion of the cost thereof, hereunder
shall be designated as VIRGINIA GROVE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT H-4358.
Section 4. The sum of $3,000 is hereby allocated from
the Highway General Obligation Bond Fund for preliminary
expense.
