A RESOLUTION WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING
FOR THE PURCHASE OF FILLER, CENTER AND
HANGING TILE BRICK FOR USE IN INCINERATOR
NO. 1, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING
AGENT OF THE CITY OF MIAMI TO ISSUE A
PURCHASE ORDER TO PURCHASE A SUPPLY OF
FILLER, CENTER AND HANGING TILE BRICK
AT A TOTAL COST OF $3,202.40 FROM M. H.
DETRICK CO. OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, THE
ONLY SOURCE FROM WHICH THIS TYPE BRICK
IS AVAILABLE, AFTER HAVING FIRST DE-
TERMINED THAT FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE.

WHEREAS, the Department of Sanitation uses filler,
center and hanging tile brick in Incinerator No. 1; and
WHEREAS, the only source from which the above de-
scribed tile brick can be purchased is from M. H. Detrick Co.
of Chicago, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that competitive
bidding be waived and that he be authorized to purchase an
anticipated annual supply of tile brick at a total cost of
$3,202.40 from M. H. Detrick Co.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI: FLORIDA:
Section 1. Competitive bidding for the purchase of
an anticipated annual supply of filler, center and hanging tile
brick at a total cost of $3,202.40 for the Department of Sanita-
tion for use in Incinerator No. 1 be, and the same is hereby
waived.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to instruct the Purchasing Agent of the City of Miami
to issue a purchase order for the items described in Section 1
above to M. H. Detrick Co. of Chicago, Illinois, the only
source available, after having first determined that funds
are available.
