A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
PROCEED WITH THE PUBLIC MEETINGS NECESSARY
TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF
THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE SANITARY COLLECTION
TASK FORCE FOR THE CURBSIDE GARBAGE AND TRASH
COLLECTION IN THE CITY OF MIAMI
WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Management Study submitted by
Leonard S. Wegman-Greenleaf/Telesca recommended that the garbage
and trash in the City of Miami be collected at curbside instead
of the backyard collection; and
WHEREAS, the Study also recommended that a Sanitary Collection
Task Force be created tostudyand make recommendations as to the
best method of implementing the curbside collection of garbage
and trash in the City of Miami;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to implement the recommendations of the
Sanitary Collection Task Force for the curbside collection of
garbage and trash in the City of Miami as outlined in the report
of said Task Force previously submitted to the City Commissioci,
including the development of an educational program to inform
the public of the various aspects and requirements for the
curbside collection including town meeting, public hearings,
press releases, etc.
