RESOLUTION NO. 73
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA TO
CANCEL AND DISCHARGE THE 1972 COUNTY REAL
PROPERTY TAXES ASSESSED ON THE LAND AS MORE
PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY HEREOF,
AS SAID PROPERTIES HAVE BEEN ACQUIRED FOR
AND ARE BEING USED FOR THE EXPANSION OF
SOUTH FORK PARK; CANCELLING AND DISCHARGING
CITY OF MIAMI 1972 AD VALOREM REAL PROPERTY
TAXES AGAINST SAID PROPERTIES, AND AUTHORIZING
THE PROPER OFFICIALS OF THE COUNTY TO TAKE
APPROPRIATE ACTION THEREON.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami acquired the real property
as set forth in this Resolution for the use and benefit of the
public for the expansion of South Fork Park; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami is making application for
the cancellation and discharge of taxes and the lien against the
properties securing them under the provisions of Section 192.59,
Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, the County Commission in prior years has
granted exemption from taxation under similar circumstances;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following described lands are devoted
to the use of the public and are to be used as set forth below.
The date of acquisition, the amount of taxes due and the legal
descriptions of the properties are as follows:

Legal Description
Lots 6, 7, and 8, in Block 49, of
MERRICKS SUBDIVISION OF RIVERSIDE
FARMS, according to the Plat thereof,
as
recorded in Plat Book 4, at Page
189, of the Public Records of
Dade County, Florida; LESS That
portion of Lots 7 and 8 more par-
ticularly described as follows:
Begin on the East line of
said Lot 8, at a point 37.62
feet Southerly of the N. E.
Corner of said Lot 8; thence
continue Southerly 62.38 feet
along the East line of Lots 8
and 9 to the S. E. Corner of
Lot 9; then Westerly 100 feet
along the South line of said
Lot 9, to the S. W. Corner
thereof; then Northerly 115.93
feet along the West line of
said Lots 9, 8 and 7; then South
63 degrees 49 minutes 30 seconds
East 112.84 feet to the Point of
Beginning.
A copy of the tax bill is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
Section 2. That the Commission of the City of Miami
requests the Board of County Commissioners of Dade County, Florida,
pursuant to the authority as set forth in F.S. 192.59, to cancel
and discharge the 1972 real property taxes assessed against the
properties described in Section 1 hereof, and that the lien against
the properties securing said taxes be cancelled and discharged.
Section 3. That the City of Miami 1972 ad valorem real
property taxes assessed against the properties described in Section
1 hereof are hereby cancelled and discharged, and the liens against
the properties securing said taxes are hereby cancelled and dis-
charged, and the proper officials of Dade County, Florida, are
hereby authorized and empowered to make proper entries upon the
records to accomplish said cancellation of the City of Miami taxes
for the year 1972 and discharge of liens, and to do all things
necessary to make the same effective.
Section 4. That the City clerk is hereby directed to
cause to be delivered to the Board of County Commissioners a
.certified copy of this Resolution.
