A RESOLUTION INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF THE JANUARY 4,
1973 CONTRACT WITH GOODWIN, INC. FOR THE WORK EN-
TITLED "N.W. 54 STREET SANITARY SEWER MODIFICATIONS -
1973" KNOWN AS JOB NO. 5380 FROM $18,000 TO AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $34,250; AND ALLOCATING AN
ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $13,000 FROM THE SANITA.RY SEWER
BOND FUND
WHEREAS, the Sanitary Sewer in N.W. 54 Street under the I-95
Expressway Overpass has collapsed; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No.72-827 adopted December 28, 1972
allocated the sum of $25,000 from the Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund to
pay for contract and incidental project expenses and authorized the
City Manager to negotiate a contract for the repair of said Sewer;
and
WHEREAS, a Contract was negotiated with Goodwin, Inc. for
said repairs, said Contract having been executed under date of
January 4, 1973 and the Contractor is in the midst of making said
repairs and excavations already in progress indicate that the
extent of damage is greater than anticipated; and
WHEREAS, in order to carry the repairs beyond the limits of
the Expressway, which is the expected limit of damage, the City has
negotiated with the Contractor to continue repairs at a price of
$250 per foot, which price is considered reasonable and fair; and
WHEREAS, an additional $13,000 may be needed to pay for the.
cost of the additional work and funds are available for allocation
from the Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund account; and
WHEREAS, the work is continuing at such a rate that the addi-

tional funds may be needed prior to the time of the next Commission
meeting which will occur January 25, 1973;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, author-
ized to increase the January 4, 1973 contract with Goodwin, Inc. for
the work entitled "N.W. 54 STREET SANITARY SEWER MODIFICATIONS - 1973"

known as Job No. 5380 in such amount as may be needed to provide
sufficient repairs to the length of sewer which is under the
Expressway, provided the total contract amount does not exceed
$34,250.
Section 2. That the additional sum of $13,000 be, and it
is hereby, allocated from the Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund account
to cover the additional costs of the Contract and incidental pro-
ject expenses.
