A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE BID RECEIVED NOVEMBER
22, 1972 FROM MARKS BROTHERS CO, IN THE ESTIMATED
AMOUNT OF $462, 916. 52 FOR LEJEUNE GARDENS HIGHWAY
IMPROVEMENT H-4353 IN DISTRICT H-4353 AND ALLOCAT-
ING THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $ 517, 466 FROM THE
HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT BOND FUND; AWARDING THE BID
RECEIVED NOVEMBER 22, 1972 FROM MARKS BROTHERS
CO. IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $5, 690 FOR N. W.
9 STREET SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT SK-4334 IN DISTRICT
SK-4334 AND ALLOCATING THE AMOUNT OF $5, 873 FROM
THE SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT BOND FUND; AND AUTHOR -
IZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
MARKS BROTHERS CO. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
AFORESAID TWO IMPROVEMENTS.
WHEREAS, bids were received November 22, 1972 .for LEJEUNE
GARDENS HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4353 and N. W. 9 STREET SIDE-.
WALK IMPROVEMENT SK-4334; and
WHEREAS, funds in the amount of $517, 466. 00 are available for
allocation from the account entitled "Highway Improvement Bond Fund"
and funds in the amount of $5, 873. 00 are available for allocation from the
account entitled "Sidewalk Improvement Bond Fund"; and
WHEREAS, the bid of MARKS BROTHERS CO. for LEJEUNE GARDENS
HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4353 in the amount of $462, 916. 25 is the
only bid received and it is acceptable; and
WHEREAS, the bid of MARKS BROTHERS CO. in the amount of
$5, 690. 00 for N. W. 9 STREET SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT SK-4334 is
the lowest bid (acceptable); and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that a contract be awarded
to MARKS BROTHERS CO. for the aforesaid two improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the bid of MARKS BROTHERS CO. received November
22, 1972 for LEJEUNE GARDENS HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4353 in
LEJEUNE GARDENS HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT H-4353, being
Bid "C", Items 78 through 93 of the Proposal, based on unit prices, at a
total estimated cost of $462, 916. 25, be and the same is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the additional amount of $517, 466. 00 be and the
same is hereby allocated from the account entitled "Highway Improvement
Bond Fund" to cover the cost of construction and incidental expenses for
LEJEUNE GARDENS IMPROVEMENT H-4353.
Section 3. That the bid of MARKS BROTHERS CO. received November
22, 1972 for N. W. 9 STREET SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT SK-4334, being
Bid "C", namely Items 154 through 159 of the Proposal, based on unit
prices, at a total estimated cost of $5, 690. 00, be and the same is hereby
accepted.
Section 4. That the amount of $5, 873. 00 be and the same is hereby
allocated from the "Sidewalk Improvement Bond Fined" to cover the con-
struction cost and incidental expenses of N. W. 9 STREET SIDEWALK
IMPROVEMENT SK-4334.
Section 5. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to enter into a contract with MARKS BROTHERS CO. in behalf of the City
of Miami for the construction of LEJEUNE GARDENS HIGHWAY IMPROVE-
MENT H-4353 and N. W. 9 STREET SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT SK-4334.
