A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR
OF FINANCE TO PAY TO FLORENCE E.
HEATHERINGTON, WITHOUT THE ADMISSION
OF LIABILITY, THE SUM OF $3,750.00 IN
FULL AND COMPLETE SETTLEMENT OF HER
CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY OF MIAMI FOR
ALLEGED PERSONAL INJURIES SUSTAINED BY
HER, UPON THE EXECUTION OF A RELEASE
RELEASING THE CITY 0? MIAMI FROM ALL
CLAIMS AND DEMANDS.
WHEREAS, the Plaintiff, FLORENCE E. HEATHERINGTON, filed
an action against the City of Miami in the Circuit Court of
Dade County, Florida, bearing Number 73-16453, alleging that
on or about August 22nd, 1972, in the course of an arrest,
she was severely injured by being forced against the wall; and
WHEREAS, this claim has been investigated by the Office
of the City Attorney and said office recommends that this
claim be settled for the sum of $3,750.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Director of Finance be and he is
hereby authorized to pay to FLORENCE E. HEATHERINGTON, without
admission of liability, the sum of $3,750.00 in full and
complete settlement of her claim against the City of Miami for
alleged personal injuries sustained by her, upon the execution
of a release releasing the City of Miami from all claims and
demands.
ADOPTED his 17 day of DECEMBER , 1974.
