A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE PRELIMINARY PLAN
DEVELOPED BY EDWARD D, STONE, JR.,, AND ASSO-
CIATES, FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF BICENTENNIAL
PART; AUTHORIZING EDWARD D. STONE, JR. , AND
ASSOCIATES TO PROCEED WITH CONTRACT PLANS
AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE PROJECT; AND
ALLOCATING THE SUM OF $4.'2 _MILLION FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT FROM THE PARKS
FOR PEOPLE BOND FUNDS PLACED IN TRUST ACCORD-
ING TO RESOLUTION NO. 74-362 FOR THE FUTURE
ACQUISITION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE DOWNTOWN
BAYFRONT PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, Edward D. Stone, Jr., and Associates were engaged
to provide professional landscape architecture services for the preparation
of a development plan for the Bicentennial Park and said plan has been
presented and found acceptable; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to proceed with the
development of the Bicentennial Park on the Old Port of Miami property;
and
WHEREAS, $24, 030, 000 of Parks for People Bonds and Funds
have been placed in trust by Resolution No. 74-362 for the future acquisition
and development of the downtown bayfront properties; and
WHEREAS, a portion of this money can be made available for the
funding of this development;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the preliminary plan developed by Edward D.
Stone, Jr., and Associates for the development of Bicentennial Park is
hereby accepted.
Section 2. That Edward D. Stone, Jr., and Associates are
hereby authorized to proceed with contract plans and specifications for
the project.
Section 3. That the sum of $4, 2 million is hereby allocated for
the construction of this project from the Parks for People Bond Funds

placed in trust according to Resolution No. 74-362 for the future
acquisition and development of the downtown bayfront property.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2 day of DECEMBER ► 1974.
