A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE INTER-
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OP POLICE CHIEFS, FOR THEIR
SERVICE IN ASSISTING HIM TO EVALUATE THE QUALI-
FICATIONS OF THE APPLICANTS FOR THE JOB OF CHIEF
OP POLICE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, AND APPROPRIATING
THE SUM OF $6800.00 FOR THAT PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, it is the desireof the Commission of the
City of Miami that the City Manager have available to him a
thorough and complete analysis of the qualifications of the
applicants for the position of Chief of Police of the City
of Miami; and
WHEREAS, the International Association of Police
Chiefs is the sole source as an organization fully qualified
to conduct such an evaluation; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has stated his intention
to select a new Chief of Police from the list of six best
qualified applicants as determined by the International
Association of Police Chiefs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized and
directed to enter into a contract with the International
Association of Police Chiefs, for their services in assisting
him to evaluate the qualifications of the applicants for the
position of Chief of Police of the City of Miami.
Section 2. The sum of Sixty Eight Hundred ($6800.00)
Dollars is hereby appropriated for the purpose of securing the
services Of the international 1 aociation of Police Chiefs,
in condUctinq an evaluation of the qualifications of the
applicants for the job of Chief of Police of the City of
Miami.
