HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-74-13007•,1 c, RESOLUTION NO. 74-1300 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH PANCOAST & ASSOCIATES TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE GARAGE AND NECESSARY SITE WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MIAMI MODERN POLICE HEADQUARTERS BUILDING; PROVIDING FUNDS FROM THE APPROPRIATE SOURCES IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,124,500 TO COVER THE COST OF CONSTRUCTION OF A 350 CAR PARKING GARAGE, SITE WORK, PROFESSIONAL FEES AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES. WHEREAS, the agreement with Pancoast Associates for the Miami Modern Police Headquarters building did not include the professional services for the design of a parking garage and site development; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney advised the Administration that in accordance with the State Law the City had to begin the processing of selecting a consultant for the parking garage and site development at the new police headquarters building site; and WHEREAS, the committee appointed by the City Manager has evaluated the new proposals submitted by 33 architectural firms in Dade County and has selected the following firm, in order of priority, for negotiation of an agreement for these professional services 1) Pancoast & Associates 2) Connell Associates, Inc. 3) Wilbur Smith and Associates, Inc. WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the firm of Pancoast & Associates be ratified as No.1 choice for the professional services required for the parking garage and site development at the Miami Modern Police Headquarters site and that he be authorized to negotiate and execute an agreement with said firm of Pancoast & Associates for this project; "DOCUMENT L :X ITEM NO '5' .." .,R tit* eiSitaiiiiibti t+�EE'Ctt�►r� t3f E*OWtaa iio..1'1"'1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to negotiate and enter into an agreement with the firm of pancoast & Associates for the professional services required for the parking garage and site development in conjunction with the Miami Modern Police Headquarters building. Section 2. That funds in the amount of $2,124,500 be and they are hereby allocated from the proper account to cover all necessary expenses including construction and professional services for the parking garage and site development at the Miami Modern Police Headquarters building site.
