A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER, PURSUANT TO A LETTER OF REQUEST FROM
THE LESSEE, TO TERMINATE, EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 1,
1974, THE AGREEMENT FOR LEASING DINNER KEY
EXPOSITION HALL INCLUDING CONCESSION STANDS,
RESTAURANT AND BAR, WHICH WAS EXECUTED BETWEEN
THE CITY OF MIAMI AND GEORGE J. MACLEAN ON
NOVEMBER 21, 1969, WAS EXTENDED ON MARCH 31,
1973, AND WOULD NORMALLY EXPIRE ON NOVEMBER 30,
1975; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND
AUTHORITY OVER OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE
ENTIRE DINNER KEY AUDITORIUM PREMISES EFFECTIVE
DECEMBER 1, 1974.
WHEREAS, there presently exists a Lease Agreement dated
the 21st day of November, 1969, between the City of Miami and
George J. MacLean, whereunder Mr. George J. MacLean leases the
Dinner Key Auditorium from the City; and
WHEREAS, there presently exists an Extension of Agreement
between the City of Miami and George J. MacLean whereunder the
Lease Agreement is extended for two years, or until November 30,
1975; and
WHEREAS, by written notice dated November 12, 1974, and
received by the City of November 20, 1974, the Lessor, George J.
MacLean, has indicated his intent to relinquish his said Lease
Agreement effective December 1, 1974, and has offered to place
certain of his own auditorium furnishings and equipment in
escrow to the City until he has made full restitution of moneys
owed to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Agreement for Leasing Dinner Key
Exposition Hall Including Concession Stands, Restaurant and Bar

Manager is hereby authorized and directed to assure full
