RESOLUTION No. 74-127$
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH KUNDE AND
ASSOCIATES, INC. AND MADIGAN-PRAEGER, INC., AS A
JOINT VENTURE, FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING ENGINEER-
ING SERVICES FOR THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS AT THE
ORANGE BOWL STADIUM AND AMENDING MOTION NUMBER
74-633 DESIGNATING KUNDE AND ASSOCIATES, INC. AND
MADIGAN-PRAEGER, INC. AS BEING THE FIRST SELECTED
CONSULTING ENGINEERING FIRMS AS A JOINT VENTURE
FOR SAID ORANGE BOWL IMPROVEMENTS, PURSUANT TO THEIR
SUBMITTED QUALIFICATIONS.
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Motion No. 74-633
designating Kunde and Associates, URS Madigan -Praeger, Inc.,
as the first selected consulting engineering firms for the
proposed Orange Bowl improvements; and
WHEREAS, the above engineering firms are incorporated
under the names of (1) Kunde and Associates, Inc., a Florida
corporation, holding Certificate No. F-261 reflecting that said
firm has met the requirements of Chapter 471.061, Florida
Statutes, said corporation being authorized to offer to the
public professional engineering and land surveying services by
the appropriate corporate individuals; and (2) Madigan -Praeger,
Inc., a New York corporation, holding Certificate No. F-1638
reflecting that it has met the requirements of Chapter 471.06,
Florida Statutes, authorizing said corporation to offer to the
public professional engineering services through its appropriate
corporate individuals; and
WHEREAS, the above corporations have filed their quali-
fications with the City of Miami prior to the adoption of
Motion 74-633 as engineering consultants for the purposes
of entering into a contract with the City of Miami for the
proposed Orange Bowl improvements; and
*MEAL E2 S, the proper officials of the City of Miami
have found that said engineering firms are qualified to
provide professional engineering consulting services to the
City for the proposed Orange Bowl improvements; and
WHEREAS, Kunde and Associates, Inc. submitted its quali-
fications totthe City of Miami for said Orange Bowl improve-
ments under the designation Kunde and Associates, Inc., and
Madigan -Praeger, Inc. submitted its qualifications under the
designation Madigan -Praeger, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Kunde and Associates, Inc. and Madigan -
Praeger, Inc. have agreed to form a joint venture for the
purpose of entering into said contract, and said joint
venture of the foregoing firms has been selected by the City
of Miami as its first choice for the foregoing consulting
engineering services for said Orange Bowl improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to enter into an agreement with Kunde and
Associates, Inc. and Madigan -Praeger, Inc. as a joint venture
for professional consulting engineering services for the
proposed improvements at the Orange Bowl Stadium, a copy of
the contract being attached hereto and made a part hereof.
Section 2. That Motion No. 74-633 is hereby amended
to provide that the designation of the first selected con-
sulting engineering firms chosen by the Commission of the
City of Miami as consulting engineers for the Orange Bowl
improvements are as contained in their qualifications sub-
mitted to the City, to wit, Kunde and Associates, Inc. and
Madigan -Praeger, Inc. as a joint venture for the purposes
of providing said Consulting engineering services for said
Orange Bowl improvements.
