A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE POLICY OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI THAT A PROFESSIONAL FIRM.SUCH AS THE POLICE FOUNDATION, -BE RETAINED FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING AN OBJECT- TIVE PROFESSIONAL INVESTIGATION OF PROCEDURES WITHIN THE MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT; SAID INVESTIGATION TO BE SIMILAR TO THE RECENT STUDY MADE FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI BY BOOZ-ALLEN HAMILTON WITH A PRELIMINARY REPORT MADE TO THE CITY COMMISSION WITHIN SIXTY TO NINETY DAYS AFTER SAID FIRM HAS BEEN ENGAGED; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FROM QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL FIRMS, AND DECLARING THAT THE FINDINGS OF THE CITY COMMISSION, ACTING AS A SPECIAL INVESTIGATIVE COMMITTEE INVESTIGATING THE MORALE, EFFICIENCY AND PERFORMANCE OF SAID MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT, BE TURNED OVER TO SAID FIRM AFTER ITS SELECTION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. It is hereby declared to be the policy of the City Commission of the City of Miami that a professional firm, such as the Police Foundation.,be retained for the purpose of making an objective professional investigation of procedures within the Miami Police Department; said investigation to be similar to the recent study made for the City of Miami by Booz- Allen Hamilton with a preliminary report made to the City Com- mission within sixty to ninety days after said firm has been engaged. Section 2.
