A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIREC /NG THE
CITY MANAGER TO BEGIN THE PROCESS PRESCRIBED
BY FLORIDA STATUTES, SECTION 287.055, FOR
SELECTING FIRMS TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES REQUIRED IN CONNECTION WITH THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A PARKING GARAGE TO BE
BUILT IN CONJUNCT/0N WITH THE MIAMI MODERN
POLICE HEADQUARTERS BUILDING, CONTEMPLATING
THAT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF APPROXIMATELY
$2,000,000 ARE AVAILABLE FOR SUCH CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, bond funds for the construction of the Miami
Modern Police Headquarters in the amount of approximately
$2,000,000 are available for the construction of a 350 car
parking garage to be used in conjunction with the Miami Modern
Police Headquarters; and
WHEREAS, the Commission of the City of Miami is
desirous of proceeding with the construction of said parking
garage; and
WHEREAS, the construction of said garage should be
coordinated with the construction of the Miami Modern Police
Headquarters facility;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager be and is hereby authorized
and directed to begin the preliminary process prescribed by
Florida Statutes, Section 287.055, for selecting a firm to
provide the professional services required to design and super-
vise the construction of a 350 car packing garage to be used in
conjunction with the Miami Modern Police Headquarters Building.

The garage is to be designed so that it may be constructed
for a cost within the approximate amount of $2,000,000 available
for construction of the Miami Modern Police Headquarters
facilities. /
