RESOLUTION NO. 74-1201_
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF
MIAMI AND METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY WHEREIN THE
CITY AGREES TO FURNISH TRAFFIC POLICE SERVICES
IN CONNECTION WITH THE TRANSIT IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM ON DIXIE HIGHWAY AND THE
COUNTY AGREES TO REIMBURSE THE CITY FOR THE
EXTRA EXPENSES INCURRED IN PROVIDING SUCH
SERVICES.
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County is desirous of
implementing and continuing a transit improvement program on
US-1/SOUTH DIXIE HIGHWAY consisting of a contraflow bus lane
and an exclusive car pool lane; and
WHEREAS, the implementation of the program requires
increased services of traffic policemen within the City of
Miami; and
WHEREAS, the implementation of the project requires
the assistance of the City of Miami and its Police Department;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami is willing to provide such
increased police services; and
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County is willing to
provide funding for the increased cost of providing such
additional police services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Thatithe:LCity Manager is authorized to
execute an Agreement by and between the City of Miami and
Metropolitan Dade County whereby the City agrees to provide

police services in connection with the transit program on
US-1/South nixie Highway within the limits of the City of
Miami. The terms of said Agreement shall include a provision
that the County shall reimburse the total overtime salary
costs incurred in connection with the project plus an
additional 23% of such cost for fringe benefits and any
additional expense incurred under the Workmen's Compensation
Act.
