A RESOLUTION APPROVING A ONE (1) YEAR
EXTENSION OF EMPLOYMENT PAST THE AGE
OF SEVENTY-ONE (71) FOR RAFAEL GARCIA,
INTERPRETER CLERIC, MIAMI POLICE DEPART-
MENT, EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 29, 1974 TO
OCTOBER 29, 1975, NOTING THAT A PREVIOUS
NINE MONTH EXTENSION HAD BEEN GRANTED,
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 29, 1974, WITH THE PRO-
VISION THAT IN THE EVENT OF A ROLLBACK
OR LAYOFF, MR. GARCIA, RATHER THAN A
JUNIOR EMPLOYEE, WOULD BE AFFECTED.
WHEREAS, the Executive Secretary, Civil Service
Board, granted an extension of Nine Months working time
for RAFAEL GARCIA on February 19, 1974, who had reached
the age of seventy (70) on October 29, 1973 (Resolution
No. 74-120) which will expire on October 29, 1974; and
WHEREAS, the City Physician has determined that
the physical condition of said Rafael Garcia is satisfactory
for continued employment; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Board has unanimously
recommended the approval of employment past the age of sev-
enty-age(71) for said Rafael Garcia for an additional one (1)
year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. A one (1) year extension of employment
past the age of seventy-one: for Rafael Garcia, Interpreter
Clerk, City of Miami Police Department, effective from
October 29, 1974 to October 29, 1975, is hereby approved,
with the provision that in the event of a rollback or layoff,
Mr. Garcia, rather than a junior employee, would be affected.
