HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-74-1108MEA: rh 10/10/74 RESOLUTION NO. 744108 A REROLUT/ON GRANTING APPROVAL, AS PER ORDINANCE NO. 6871, ARTICLE IV, SECTION 32, TO EXPAND THE EXISTING FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT SUBSTATION, LOCATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF SOUTHWEST FIRST AVENUE, BETWEEN SOUTHWEST SIXTEENTH AVENUE AND SOUTHWEST SIXTEENTH COURT ON LOTS ONE THROUGH FOUR AND 26 THROUGH 28, BLOCK FOUR, WOODSIDE SUBDIVISION (5-28) SUBJECT TO FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY'S COMPLYING WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: (1) MAINTAIN FIVE FOOT SETBACK ON THE SOUTHEAST CORNER AND CONSTRUCT THE REQUIRED SIDEWALK; (2) RECONSTRUCT THE SIDEWALK AND REPLANT SHRUBS AND TREES IF NECESSARY ON THE SOUTHSIDE OF THE PROPERTY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LOCATION AND STANDARDS SPECIFIED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPART- MENT; (3) MAINTAIN ADDITIONAL LIGHTING ALONG SOUTHWEST FIRST AVENUE FOR THE SAFETY OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD; (4) TRIM AND MAINTAIN THE LAND- SCAPING ON THE ENTIRE SITE IN A MANNER THAT WILL PROVIDE SAFETY TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD; (5) NO FURTHER EXPANSION INTO THIS RESIDENTIAL AREA WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE FUTURE; AND (6) SITE PLAN DEVELOPMENT WILL BE SUBJECT TO PLAN- NING DEPARTMENT APPROVAL AND REVIEW OF TRAFFIC OPERATIONS; PROPERTY ZONED R-C (RESIDENCE OFFICE) AND R-2 (TWO FAMILY) . Whereas, the Miami Planning Advisory Board, at its meeting of September 18, 1974, Item #2, following an advertised hearing, adopted Resolution PAB 42-74 by a five to one vote, recommending approval as per Ordinance 6871, Article IV, Section 32, to expand the existing Florida Power and Light substation, located on the North side of Southwest First Avenue, between Southwest Sixteenth Avenue and Southwest Sixteenth Court on Lots 1 through 4 and 26 through 28, Block 4, Woodside Sub- division (5-28); and WHEREAS, the City Commission finds it advisable and in the best interest of the inhabitants of the City of Miami to approve the expansion of the existing Florida Power and Light substation located on the North side of Southwest First Avenue, between Southwest Sixteenth Avenue and Southwest Sixteenth Court on Lots 1 through 4 and 26 through 28, Block 4, Woodside 91) -4' MC: Oft' Subdivision (5-28); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The request for expansion of the existing Florida Power and Light substation, located on the North side of Southwest First Avenue between Southwest Sixteenth Avenue and Southwest Sixteenth Court on Lots 1 through 4 and 26 through 28, Block 4, Woodside Subdivision (5-28), subject to Florida Power and Light Company's complying with the following condi- tions: (1) Maintain five foot setback- on the southeast corner and construct the required sidewalk; (2) Reconstruct the sidewalk and replant shrubs and trees if necessary on the southside of the property in accordance with the location and standards specified by the Public Works Department; (3) Maintain additional lighting along Southwest First Avenue for the safety of the neighborhood; (4) Trim and maintain the landscaping on the entire site in a manner that will provide safety to the neighborhood; (5) No further expansion into this residential area will be permitted in the future; and (6) Site plan development will be subject to Planning Department approval and review of traffic operations; property zoned R-c (Residence Office) and R-2 (Two Family).
