A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY
OFFICIALS TO ESTABLISH A TEMPORARY TRUST
ACCOUNT THROUGH WHICH PAYMENTS FROM
METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA WILL
BE DIRECTLY DISBURSED TO PAY OFF -DUTY
POLICE OFFICERS FOR PROVIDING TRAFFIC
CONTROL SERVICES FOR THE METRO BLUE DASH
U.S. 1 - DIXIE HIGHWAY CONTRA -FLOW PROJECT.
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County is operating a transit
improvement program on U. S. 1 - Dixie Highway known as the BLUE DASH
which consists of a contra -flow bus lane and exclusive car pool lane, and
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County has contracted with off -
duty City of Miami Police personnel to provide traffic control service within
the limits of the City of Miami for this project, and
WHEREAS, the County and the City of Miami administrations
are negotiating a formal agreement to contract for these traffic control services
on a formal basis, and
WHEREAS, in the interim, a method of proper accounting for the
public funds in payment for these services are needed on a temporary basis,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the proper City officials establish a temporary
trust account through which payments from Metropolitan Dade County, Florida
will be directly disbursed to pay off -duty Police officers for providing traffic
control services for the Metro Blue Dash U. S. 1 - Dixie Highway contra -flow
project.
